The beginning David & Pádraic, from jumpAgrade to Nurture

The origin story

## It started with a question of access.

Nurture grew from first-hand experience of how unequal access to educational support limits student potential—and a determination to make personal feedback possible for every learner.

1. 2017

    ### Make support more accessible

David and Pádraic started jumpAgrade to move extra tuition online, reduce cost and remove the burden of travel.

2. The shift

    ### Personalise feedback, not privilege

Seeing inequalities in access changed the question: how could more students receive effective, personal support?

3. Today

    ### Give every teacher the framework

The model developed with Learnovate became Nurture: personalised formative feedback at classroom scale.

19%

average grade increase achieved by students supported through jumpAgrade.

A framework proven at scale

## From a social mission to a tool for every classroom.

Working with Learnovate at Trinity College Dublin, the team developed a framework for fast, effective, personalised feedback. Its success with jumpAgrade laid the foundations for Nurture.

What we set out to solve

## Better feedback without asking more from teachers.

Nurture works with tools schools already know, including Microsoft Teams, to make formative practice more sustainable.

### Reduce repetitive marking

Identify common knowledge gaps and reuse high-quality feedback without repeating the same marking task.

### Make reflection count

Help students pause, process and act on feedback—so teachers’ work changes what happens next.

### See progress over time

Give students, teachers and leaders a clearer view of improvement across tasks, classes and schools.
