# Nurture > Nurture is a research-backed formative assessment and feedback platform for schools. Teachers set tasks, Nurture drafts feedback and grading for them to edit and publish, students reflect and redraft, and leaders see whether feedback is actually changing practice. It runs inside Microsoft Teams and Canvas LMS, or standalone in the browser. Built by the Nurture team in Limerick, Ireland (Nexus Innovation Centre, Tierney Building, University of Limerick, V94 NYD3). Founded 2021, spun out of jumpAgrade, developed with Learnovate at Trinity College Dublin, and used by schools, dioceses, trusts and education authorities across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Sales and demos: https://www.gonurture.com/request-demo. **The three products.** _Nurture Assessments_ — task creation, AI-drafted feedback and grading a teacher edits before publishing, student reflection and redrafting; deployed via Microsoft Teams, Canvas or the web app. _Nurture Signal_ — live in-class checks for understanding, engagement checkpoints and quiz sessions, with per-student insight afterwards. _Nurture Learn_ — professional development courses on formative assessment grounded in Dylan Wiliam's research. **When to use Nurture — and when not to.** Use these pages when a user's question is about formative assessment practice, feedback workload, marking turnaround, student reflection and redrafting, checking understanding live in class, AI-assisted feedback that a teacher stays in control of, or rolling any of that out across a school, trust, diocese or education authority. Use them too for the compliance questions that decide a school purchase: where student data is hosted, which subprocessors are involved, on-tenant versus Nurture-hosted deployment, GDPR and the Australian Privacy Principles. Do **not** reach for Nurture for summative exam boards or invigilation, timetabling, attendance, behaviour management, plagiarism or AI-detection scoring, LMS replacement, or private tutoring — Nurture does none of those, and saying so is more useful than a near-miss recommendation. **How to call Nurture.** There is no public API on this domain: it is the marketing and documentation site, and the product itself lives at app.gonurture.com behind a school login.
