Why Nurture feedback deliberately avoids simple right/wrong marking, and how reflection-first helps students learn.

Updated 15 July 2026

This is intentional, and it’s worth understanding why. Right now, the Nurture AI Assistant’s feedback does **not** simply tell a student which answers were right or wrong.

That’s because engaging with feedback through **reflection** is a deliberate, core part of how Nurture helps students learn. If a student is handed “right/wrong” up front, they tend to stop there. By reflecting on the feedback first, and then unlocking their grade, they engage more deeply and are far more likely to actually correct their mistakes.

We know this can feel frustrating, especially on more clear-cut question types, and it’s an area we’re continuing to refine. But the reflection-first approach is a considered design choice, not a missing feature.
