How to use task codes in Nurture

Task codes let you share a Nurture task with a colleague, use a task a colleague has shared with you, or reuse one of your own tasks in a different class, Teams channel, or Canvas course. Each task has its own unique code, and entering that code creates a duplicate of the task for you to use.

When task codes are useful

• A colleague has created a task and wants to share it with their department. They share the code, and everyone can load it.
• You want to get a colleague up to speed with Nurture quickly. Create a task, share the code, and they can start straight away with something ready to go.
• You teach the same subject across multiple Teams channels or Canvas courses and want to reuse the same task without rebuilding it.

Finding the task code for a task you have created

1. Open the task you want to share.
2. Click Share Task. The shareable code will appear for you to copy.
3. Send the code to your colleague however you like (email, message, in person).

You can also find the code by clicking the share icon on the task card from your task list, without opening the full task.

Using a task code to create a task

1. Click New Task.
2. Enter the task code in the box at the top.
3. Click Create Task.
4. After a couple of seconds, the task loads with everything from the original: the title, questions, success criteria, marking scheme, and any custom feedback instructions the original teacher set.

What carries over and what does not

Carries over: the title, questions, success criteria, marking scheme, and custom feedback instructions. The task should behave the same as the original.

Does not carry over: student submissions. This is a brand new task for a brand new set of students.

What to do next

Once the task is loaded, you can edit and refine it using the Nurture AI Assistant or manually before assigning it.
