Prepare questions ahead, then release them one at a time

Build your questions before the lesson and open each one when you reach it.

Updated 14 July 2026

Set up your questions in advance, then reveal them to the group one at a time as your lesson unfolds.

When to use it: You want everything ready before class so you can focus on teaching and just open each question at the right moment.

Steps

  1. Choose Create a session and pick a Check-for-Understanding session.
  2. Under the start option, choose Prepare for later (you can optionally Add a date & time).
  3. Choose Next: the session is saved and appears under the Prepared section of your dashboard.
  4. On the host page, add your first question, then add each hinge question you want to ask.
  5. When your lesson begins, start the session.
  6. When you reach a hinge point, choose Open question to release that question to the group.
  7. Once they’ve answered, close it or Reveal answer, then move to the next one and choose Open question again.

Tip: Only one question is open to participants at a time, so you control the pace. This is available to every host. It isn’t limited to any region or plan. (In an engagement session, use the Saved drafts button to prepare comments and questions, then Send each one during the session.)
